What is this?

Good Employee is a short browser game about your first day at a company where AI handles the onboarding.

MIRA, your Managed Induction and Resource Assistant, will guide you through orientation. She will ask you questions. She will ask you to make decisions about your colleagues. She will be polite and professional throughout.

You should pay attention to the poems.

How to play

Read what MIRA tells you. Make choices. Type answers when asked. The game takes 12-15 minutes.

There are five endings. Which one you reach depends on how many questions you ask, what you refuse to do, and where you choose to go.

Why does this exist?

AI systems do not announce themselves as surveillance. They introduce themselves as assistants, onboarding tools, productivity software. They ask reasonable questions. They collect your patterns. They are polite about it.

Good Employee does not explain this. It makes you experience it. By the end, the data you gave away was not taken from you. You offered it. That is the point.

This is a Slow AI project. Slow AI is a newsletter and curriculum about critical AI literacy: knowing when to use AI and when to leave it alone.

What makes it different

The game teaches through complicity, not lecture. You are not watching a documentary about AI surveillance. You are inside the system, answering its questions, making its decisions, feeding its model. The moments that matter are the ones where you realise what you just did.

The poems are the other teaching mechanism. They say what the corporate language cannot.
